Allez, allez, allez! Aux Champs D'Élysées - ou non, Aux Champs de Whitehall

We were reminded of Belleville Rendezvous a bit today. Andres, Linda and me went to see the Prologue of La Tour de France, which, much to Andres' surprise started in London. Various questions came to mind:

a) Are the riders made up of anything else but muscle and a bit of pasta in their tummies?
b) Do they really need five spare bikes and 3 spare tires for an 7,9km time trial on the streets of London?
c) Was there anyone who really supported team telecom, or were they all just keen on a free hat, like us?
d) How can anyone cycle for so long and over so many mountains? I think it will always remain a miracle to me.
e) Why can one not walk right in the middle of London's streets every day? It is such a liberating experience!
f) What would it be like to have French and English commentators competing right next to each other at every sporting event? Maybe everyone would become bilingual?
g) Did the queen's horse guards miss all the attention they normally get? We didn't even have to queue for our picture!
h) Why is it that French policemen look so much more gallant and sexy, even though their uniforms pretty much look like a riding outfit?
i) Why do my pictures still need turning in here when I already did? Now I am too tired to fix it.

Thank you for the sunshine!

Joe Dassin – Les Champs-Élysées
It should have been
Aux Champs de Whitehall, but it needed to be something French.
